It's about time for some news...

It's certainly been much too long since we posted with updates on our life. To be honest, for a long time there wasn't anything new and exciting happening. As of now there is definately some news to shout at the rooftops!!! WE'RE PREGNANT!!! Ryan and I had been trying since September of last year with some hardships along the way. We definately grew stronger through the trials we faced, and are now blessed with a healthy baby! Ryan and I were ready to be parents long before we met truely, we've always loved children and found it hard to hold off starting our little family. We started trying shortly before our 2 year mark, and have had to wait on the lords timing. There is truely a bigger plan, perfectly mapped out with even the smallest details of life considered. We thought we knew the reasons for such a wait, but have since been left wondering. Whatever the reason, I have no doubt it will surface before we know it and we will feel blessed for this baby's timing!

We coudln't be more excited for the changes of life this joy will bring. People kept telling us "Oh my gosh, a baby is going to change your lives, you'll never get this time back as just the 2 of you." DUH, we know! We could not be MORE ready for this time in our lives. Ryan would look at the backseat of our car and say to me "I want babies sitting back there. Can we skip forward a few years and have 2 kids already?!" Oh how i love when he says those things!!! So cute!

So here we are, ready to be parents. We could not feel more blessed and excited for this next step! As of now, I am 13 weeks & 4 days, and my due date is February 20th. We'll keep ya posted :)

Easter Sunday Ryan and I were able to spend some quality time with our families! We went to church with Ryan's Mom and Sister, and had a yummy lunch with them too. It was good to spend some time. My sister Callie (and her babies!) were in town from Oregon to visit the family for our last gathering in Corona :( It's still shocking to me that Corona won't be our home anymore...i'll miss Mom and Dad's house! We didn't take many pictures of the family together, but Ryan did manage to snap some ADORABLE shots of the grandkids by the pool.... SO CUTE!!

Ryan and I also walked down to the Long Beach Grand Prix races (a block from our house!). We could hear the cars speeding around all weekend, and finally walked down to check it out this Sunday. We invited a new couple in the ward, it was a ton of fun!! It was so crowded and exciting, i love being a part of something big like this. It was a fun tradition to whitness..

Catalina Island!

In case you didn't yet know, Ryan's new calling is the Ward Mission Leader! One of the perks is we get to travel to Catalina to visit our spanish branch out there :) Catalina is technically within our ward boundaries, so we have a small branch on the island. Sunday we took the ferry out after Sacrament and spent the day out there! I got super sea sick on the way over unfortunately...but i took some Dramomine for the ride back and was okay thankfully. the branch didn't meet till 4pm so we had a couple hours to walk around and take some fun picures!.... Fun Weekend, Even Funner Shots!

This weekend was a mixture of events. We started out going night shooting with the Elly's at Disneyland, which was great since we learned a ton from them! The next night we shot our friends band, called Galapaghost!! Their music was so beautiful and emotional, we just loved it! It was great to see all our friends again too, Nicole sat with me and we had a blast! The last three shots were in this beautiful spot Lyndzee found, i loved the way they turned out!Check out the shots she got of us!

People ask me all the time what it is i do all day, 'don't you get bored?'. The answer is NO!! I do a lot with my days, and a lot of fun fun stuff! I am always sewing or crafting something different...my days are anything but boring! Sure i have a lazy day here and there, but for the most part i keep pretty busy! The last few weeks i was sewing some elastic skirts, which was fun! But...my latest project was Mod Podge, and oh BOYY is it amazing!!! I can't seem to get away from it! I tried to work wiht layering the patterns in sort of an 'embellishment' style, thought i'd fancy it up!

My mom called me today in the middle of my mod lamp shade (not finished yet) and she said i was so 70's using mod podge! She called me the 'Domestic Goddess'! hahaha. She pretty much nailed it.. it's truely what i love to do!

..Oh yes and the 'E' is for our future little girl, Emery! Hopefully we have a girl first because i want to start my nursery now!!

To kick off the Holiday, a couple in our ward threw a rock band party! It was a ton of fun getting to know our friends better! Then it was off to Mom and Dad's house in Corona. The week consisted of lots of late nights playing games...dancing with the kiddos to Lady GaGa and Maroon5, haha...afternoon strolls in the wintery weather...and playing the 'yearbook game' with my hilarious parents!

Well i haven't posted in a while, mainly because i just haven't been taking pictures lately. But i thought i would add a post of the pictures i DO take! i already miss it, wahh! I get sad when i see pictures of my red hair! As much as i say i love it dark, i just don't feel like Cindel with it dark! Cindel has wild hair!!! Dark is not wild, nor is it as fun! So im torn, i don't know what to do. As for now, i purchased a new bottle of deep conditioner to repair my hair in order for some change...whether it be chemical straightening or REDness! So curly-sue is on her way out for the next few weeks.. bye bye irons, i'll see you in a few!

There are two very exciting things i'm smellin in my life as of recent! Yes, naturally one should follow after the other. And yes, i may be doing things a bit out of order. But frankly... i don't see any other way! I've been unfortunate thus far to not have been able to attend hair school since graduation, due to many very sad cercumstances. And it's finally, FINNNALLLLY, a do-able thing for us! Hair is my LIFE and i can't imagine any other career for me!!!(of course other then the 'way too stinkin expensive' fashion school!) But that's the one; the ONE thing i've been striving to master since i was 14!! After six years, i feel i know as much (if not more) then most...but i am not too proud to say i DO in fact need the extended training hair school offers. I applied to three schools in my area...so im praying they have a spot for me next Spring!

On the other hand... Ryan and I have been yearning for children for many months now. Last month was an emotional time when we found that we were not pregnant. We had not been trying actively, but there was a chance...and it didn't happen for us. We had had long talks before about when to start trying for kids, and each time we concluded that we just weren't anywhere near stable enough financially. But how "ready" can you really be? Is anyone really "ready"?! Sure you try to be smart about the timing, but when it feels right it just FEELS RIGHT! We know we will be blessed with the means necessary as we do our part in multiplying and replenishing the earth. We have every faith in that! I know we've both felt this way, but myself especially... i've really felt that now is the time to have children for us! So...we're going to start trying!!!

If you haven't put two in two together...i will be attenting Cosmetology School while pregnant! Yes it'll be tough, but they are two dreams SOO important to me! I will be able to take up the 3 months leave from school and return to finish it off! I am not worried... it will all work out...and i couldn't be MORE excited!! i will have my little hair school baby, and he/she will be such an amazing blessing!

...consisted of a truely creative scavanger-hunt for his presents! I cut out paper hearts and scattered them around the house with little hints :) He got some cologne, a sweater vest & hot-man glasses!

...after work we went straight to our favorite 'hot-spot' Disneyland! haha. It was fun, we took lots of pics!

...and, we ended the night with some Jamba annd the movie Eagle Eye, SO GOOD! It was a small and simple night, but we enjoyed our 'us' time!!

BUT WAIT..there's more! For the weekend we went to the pumpkin patch for some holiday decorations and really enjoyed the wintery weather! Saturday, I had all of his best buds come down for a birthday dinner and Disneyland afterward...it's always so much fun to go to the park with a big crowd! Ryan truely enjoyed himself..i'm so happy! Thanks for coming everyone!!

This weekend was a real doosie with lots of FUN times with good friends! Ryan and i went to Disneyland with our pals, followed by a 'guys watch UFC' and 'girls watch a girlie movie and hit up Disneyland again'...it was a blast! Nicole, Lyndzee, and I were three-peas-in-a-pod...it was so much fun! We also scored tickets to a LA Dodgers game, thanks to his wonderful boss! It was so much fun :)

The Whole Sha-BANG

Last week i spent a couple days with my deer 'ol friend Lyndzee! While there we started on our little business "Blackbird Boutiq", it kept us pretty occipied! Lyndzee also threw a clothing exchange party which i managed to get only one picture out of...
Lyndzee took in upon herself to drag out her fabulous grandma glasses!! They were a true joy to the evening! (too bad i wasn't aware we were taking a 'scariest face' picture!)

We also went with a couple fun girlfriends to the Breaking Dawn release party, and it was a hoot! Some crazy people out there, eek! But the books are amazing nonetheless. Here are soem shots of the girls...Jenn and Katie, my sister Callie, me, and Lyndzee...

Also while there Lyndzee and I took our new project with us, and they were a hit!! Here are some of the girls with their "Blackbird Boutiq" headbands...

Home Sweet Home

Alright alright...my sista's are dying to see the new place so here are more then enough pictures for ya!! Let me know what you think...

This is our little front porch and a view of our big front window that i just love! Also the side door to the cute neighborhood.

Here is the front room and mantel...

this is the extension of the front room, going back towards the rest of the home.. As you can see we have built-in shelving and desk area on either side of the room, and a large built in hutch. The kitchen is directly behind the wall there and the hallway off to the right leads to the rest of the house..(The table is temporary, we're expecting a big antique from Ryan's grandma)

This is the Den that comes off the side of the front room. Megan stayed here with us for a bit, it is just a small space big enough for a twin bed and the built in dresser you see there.

this is the fun bathroom! and yes it's fun..i love the tiles!! There is also a large built in dresser here where i keep the beautiful platter Mom got for me :)

These knobbs are on all the original doors from the 20's when the place was first built. I love all the small pieces of character this place has!! It's so fun and vintage!

...Sorry no pictures of the Kitchen, Bedroom, or Laundry Room...i didn't feel like cleaning this morning! haha

My apologies for not posting much sooner but we've just been busy busy over here. We moved into a new place in June and had my cousin living with us for the past month. On the 4th CLifford, Megan, and two of our friends came down from Utah to play for the weekend! We went to the beach and hung out around Huntington. It was a lot of fun to have a full house, but we're very excited to be back to the two of us again! I am now job searching and hopefully still starting school next month!

Ok ONE: Ryan and I got the place we were hoping for!! We move in three weeks, yaay!! This place is absolutely gorgeous, we cannot wait! (ps it's still downtown LB if your wondering)

Last weekend we went out with our friends Lyndzee and Roger and took some bridals! I had lots of fun getting into my dress again, almost a year later! I was happy with the way everything came together, i was stumped with my head-dress for a while...so i just had to wing it! It was fun to "glam"-up the dress and play around in this beautiful spot! These two found the prettiest little creek for the set!

Saturday Ryan and I spent most of our afternoon in LA at the Griffith Observatory! It was fun to learn more about our solar system and take some neat pictures of it's beautiful architecture and scenery. We had a lot of fun just getting out and trying something new! Before going home we drove around Beverly Hills and looked at the celebrity mansions...pretty sure i'm overly obsessed with the celebrity lifestyle! i want to live there, haha!

For my fellow American Idol fans...are you with me when i say, Michael could have easily won this whole season?? Ryan and i were beyond shocked; we were so angry after last nights cast off! Not only did one of the best performers go home, but they made a point to say that last year they didnt have to send anybody home at this time...yet they send him home anyway? WOW! We were sooo confused! You could just see the anger in his face too, i wanted to just jump right onto the tv and hug him! I think everybody was in shock...poor guy! So Ryan and i decided to invest in his music career and attent his shows. We really liked this Autralian Hunkie!

So it's 10:30 on Friday night and to my surprise Megan calls with news that her, Jess, Kyle and his gf Tana are leaving for California on 15 minutes...to arrive at our place at 6am Saturday morning! Most may be overwhelmed with this news or even a bit angered...but NOT US!! We raced home from Disneyland and picked up the place, went to bed, and were woken by Megan's call when they arrived! They couldn't have picked a better weekend, we had no plans whatsoever and wanted to just relax and enjoy eachother at home. But if you know mine and Megan's relationship...i'd drop anyhting for that girl! It's always a good time, i love their visits! It was also nice to get to know Kyle's girlfriend too, she's a quiet girl but lots of fun! ...So we headed to Huntington beach Saturday and met up with RM Aaron Jones, shopped a bit, and came home to get ready to hit Hollywood! We drove to Hollywood that night and walked around taking pictures on Hollywood Boulevard. It was a great night to go, there were millions of street acts and people dressed as super heroes just walking around in character, it was so fun! We then met again with Aaron in Long Beach and grabbed a little desert at Boston'a pizza. (hence the goofy pictures with the never ending fudge cup!) To end the night, we snuck around the Queen Mary ship and took some neat pictures, i'll be making a slideshow of all the pictures just as soon as i figure out how!

The weekend came to a quick end when they had to leave Sunday morning...but it was worth every minute! I love them :)

Just Oodles of FUN

As i'm sure you have heard Ryan and I had Megan, Luke and my friend Jessica down for the weekend. To sum it all up, it was a BLAST, and it never falls short of being just as fun each time we see them! Highlights were...well...ALL of them: we hit the beach, club, and saw lots of families and friends! It was a fun-filled weekend with lots of pictures and great memoires! These people truely bring out my inner child; here are some videos and pics to proove it... ENJOY!

Oh and you can't forget the spontanious photo shoot with the girls!! I'm trying to practice my photography skills, haha. i love it!

A Healthier Life

Ryan and i are starting our first day of the "Master Cleanse"! What it is is a mixed lemonade drink that flushes your body of all bad toxins and fats. In addition to 6-12 glasses a day you do a salt water flush in the mornings, and a laxitive tea at night. The end result is to flush your system completely of bad toxins and start you on a healthier diet. Ryan and i have noticed lately the type of foods we eat aren't necessarily healthy so we wanted something to get the bad food out and force us to eat healthy afterward. The diet lasts a minimum of 10 days with a gradual diet back to solid foods a few days following. In most cases a person will lose up t0 20 lbs in this period (depending on body types and previous eating habits) so we'll see how much we lose! Ryan is doing this mainly to get healthier and get his exercise routine back in place...but in addition to those same reasons, i hope to lose a couple pounds in the process :) Good luck to usss!!! a flowery surprise

So in case you were wondering how cute my husband is...he is SOO rediculously charmingly cute! Monday night he has choir practice from 7-10. During that time i clean the appartment and manicure my hair/nails, what have you! But this week Ryan left in his normal fashion only to come home an hour later with beautiful flowers and secret Valentines Day gifts! He totally surprised me, it was adorable!!! The best part is, it was no special occasion and the flowers were exactly the kind i looveee ...and they matched my colorful display of fruit on our table! What more can you ask for :)

Ryan and i went to the mountains of Lake Arrowhead to see our friends David and Natalie before their big move to Utah. May i just say, we had so much fun! They are such a fun couple and we will miss them so much! But hey... all that much more reason so visit Utah any chance we get! It was a relaxing weekend consisting of yummy meals, Xbox Rock band, Flight of the Conchords, and secret valentines day gifts :) Oh and you can't forget the large amount of SNOW! my goodness! So here are some pics of the weekend...

Yes, we are back already for a short update on our lives as of recently. I have not spoken to you all about the events that have happened sinced we last saw you, so here they are! Ryan is now on his third week of practice for the Long Beach Chorale! He emailed the director in hopes to have a special try out since they normally only have try outs once a year. She kindly offered to let him come considering his background! So he made it, yay! He practices every monday from 7-10; giving me my "me time" to clean and take my regular 3 hours doing my hair! haha Just kidding, but close enough right?! Lets see... Ryan went fishing with the Elders Corum saturday and smelt so gross when he came home, haha. He said the boat was beautiful and had lots of fun although no luck catching fish! As for me, nothing really new except a new hair color touch up, and a root canal tomorrow. Not excited for the root canal, but my hair is pretty fun! I've also been cutting more hair for girls at my work, which is awesome! I need all the practice i can get, and i absolutely love it! I also have a new calling as the Sunday school teacher for the 14-15 year old class. My first lesson was a bomb and i cried because i felt i did a terrible job. However, my lesson this sunday went really well and gave me more confidence! ...I guess there is one more small bit of news, we got new "Jersey" material sheets for the bed and they are absolutely amazing! If you have not discovered Jersey Sheets you are truely missing out... i never want to get out of bed :)
